Winery SA Prüm

Today, this exceptional traditional winery from the 19th century is run by the passionate, internationally experienced oenologist and ownerSaskia Andrea PrümShe is the great-granddaughter of founder Sebastian Alois (1911) and the daughter of the "Great Red Prüm" (Raimund Prüm), who led the family winery to become one of the world's leading German Riesling producers for over 45 years. 30 hectares of the finest Riesling!

The house vineyard of this flagship is the world-famous Grand Cru site “Wehlener Sonnenuhr”, whose historic sundial still belongs to the Prüm family and was built in 1842 by the brother of the founding father, Jadocus Prüm.

Grand Crus – Great Locations:Sundial, Lay & Cathedral Provost

Blessed by perfect sunshine and cultivated with particular care by the numerous helpers in the vineyard on steep to the steepest slopes. These vineyards are among the best in Germany and are characterized by exceptional quality and a perfect microclimate. Only wines from these classified sites bear the almost 100-year-old traditional label. The wines grown there mature slowly and for a long time to achieve their optimal quality. Harvested by hand with a reduced yield and carefully destemmed, these wines are fermented with the vineyard's own yeast in stainless steel tanks and then rest on the fine lees in old oak barrels (fuder) for a further few months before being bottled in the summer. Only in this way do they develop their special richness of aromas, spice, power, elegance and enormous potential for ageing.

Moselle / Germany

The growing area is located inRhineland-Palatinateand to a small extent also in Saarland inGermanyThe Moselle River winds its way from Trier to Koblenz for 237 km, but the straight line distance is only 96 km. These three rivers gave the wine-growing region its old name, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, which was valid until 2007.
