Iceland's "BEATS"

Elite fishing

In Iceland, land and property are privately owned, and so are fishing rights. Fishing licenses are issued exclusively by the owners of the beats, which are sections of rivers, streams, or lakes. Each fishing license is valid per rod, which has the advantage of allowing one angler to share a rod, for example, by taking turns fishing the salmon stretch while the other angler fishes the char/trout stretches. Icelandic salmon stretches are among the best in the world and are therefore highly sought after.

South Iceland

Selfoss & Vik

Our "culinary fishing camp" is located in the solitude of the Nordic wilderness between Selfoss and Vik y Myrdal in the south of the country. Fishing takes place in the stunning stretches, waterfalls, and pools of the Tungufljot, Holaa, Fossa , and Vatnsa rivers. We also fish in secluded, fish-rich lakes like Lake Haidervatn and Lake Laugarvatn . Fishing in the pools around the Hjálparfoss and Faxifoss waterfalls offers spectacular scenery. Target fish include classic salmonids, magnificent Arctic char, large brown and lake trout , and, of course, salmon .
