Golfers of Sado
In the Bay of Setúbal – officially recognized as one of the most beautiful bays in the world – located directly at the mouth of the Sado River into the Atlantic, you can experience up close on the water the “Golfinhos do Sado” – a community of dolphins living in the bay.
With our catamaran we not only sail for swimming with a sumptuous picnic on the Atlantic , but also (if you want) before sunrise with our traditional wooden fishing boat “far out” to the fishing grounds for deep sea fishing for sea bass, mullet, sea bream, red snapper and mackerel.

Our "base camp" is located in a secluded location near the village of Poceirao , 20 minutes from the picturesque port city of Setúbal and the Arrábida nature reserve , north of the mouth of the Sado into the Atlantic, 40 minutes by car from Lisbon airport on a private, traditionally stylish and lovingly furnished Portuguese finca "Rocha's House" surrounded by six hectares of vineyards.
Camp Refuge
Accommodation is provided in six authentically and stylishly furnished double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. All rooms are generously spread across the ground floor and attic, and most are furnished with Victorian-style furniture. The finca has two spacious covered terraces that provide shade and a place to retreat. The heart of the finca is a spacious living room tiled with Portuguese marble, with an adjoining, very spacious kitchen and integrated traditional dining room , a long table for twelve people, and a lounge with an open fireplace.

Outdoor Cooking
The focal point of the camp outside the finca is the pool with a BBQ hut, wood-fired stone oven , and outdoor toilet. All lunches and dinners are held as "workshops" over an open wood fire by the pool and among the orange trees . They also provide the sweet oranges they pick themselves for breakfast by the pool. Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the finca.
The pantry
Experience passionate market visits to the vibrant and colorful "Mercado do Livramento" in Setúbal, a legendary trading center for freshly caught fish and seafood, as well as regional meat, poultry, and vegetable specialties. On the beach and on our private finca, we present hedonistic seafood platters featuring lobster, crayfish, langoustines, shrimp, spider crabs, mussels, and snails , and celebrate authentic Portuguese fish, meat, and vegetables from the region over an open wood fire by the finca pool .

Authentic Portugal
The poolside grill features everything from market-fresh tuna, sardines, mackerel , and sea bream to rabbit, lamb , and country chicken , as well as succulent Portuguese beef entrecôtes , artichokes, lettuce hearts , and much more. During our daily workshops, we celebrate regional specialties together over and with a wood fire, and experience traditional preparations of octopus, calamari , and, of course, bacalao . The caldeirada – a local fish stew – prepared in the traditional cataplana is also an integral part of our authentic culinary extravaganzas...
Great wines
In the old winery of the “Heredade de Pegos Claros”, (founded in 1920) we taste and celebrate Castelao – the traditional grape variety of the “DOC Palmela” region – from 70 and 100 year old vineyards. as well as the indigenous specialty Moscatel Roxo from various producers in different vintages.
Always on board is a wide selection of regional wine specialties, ice-cold Portuguese beer, gin, tonic and water.

We would also be happy to coordinate and book flights according to your wishes and specifications.
We deliberately keep group sizes small, max. 8-10 participants per group.
Minimum number of participants: 5 people . For up to 4 participants, we charge €2,495 per person.
Upon individual request and for an additional charge, we can organize beach rides on horses from the nearby stud farm or your personal golf day at the “Montado Golf Resort” 5 km away.
The Taste & Travel trip “Authentic Setúbal Portugal” takes place on fixed dates, but can also be booked individually for closed groups
