Spices in a glass: that's how Orient Gin presents itself. It has an intense aroma and is a tribute to its homeland, the Bo Kaap district, which is characterized by the spice trade. "Starting traditions, not following them!" is the motto of Pienaar & Son. The South African father-son duo consists of a chemical engineer with over 40 years of industry experience and a creative chemist and "master distiller" in his mid-twenties. In the heart of Cape Town, the two have built a small factory where they set new standards with ultra-modern distillation technology and handcrafted equipment. With respect for history, but also convinced of their own, new ways, they produce high-end spirits with a unique flavor profile. The influence of the Malays, who once brought spices to Cape Town, can be found in the Orient. Based on a home-distilled corn spirit, it transports the nose and palate to a world from 1001 Arabian Nights. Cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, plenty of juniper and a little fresh mandarin oranges create the exciting oriental aroma.
