The vineyard is located in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation and has 9 hectares of vines. The density is 5,000 vines per hectare. The vines come from vineyards with an average age of 25 years and are planted on sandy loam soils. The vines are trained using the Guyot system, with leaf thinning in the direction of the main sunlight. The Mähler-Besse family has done everything to produce great Bordeaux wines here. Mähler-Besse invested in the cellar and in new, tapered tanks, which are unique in the appellation. The yields at Château La Couronne
