Only the best of each grape variety is used for this traditional blend—the winery's flagship—which evokes the winery's history. A beautifully floral nose, followed by green apple aromas, is rounded off on the palate with notes of butter, citrus, and caramel.

Leipzig Winery

It all began in 1723, when Johannes Christian Raabe, a young German man from Leipzig, set out for South Africa in search of a better life. He settled in the beautiful Tal Nuy and began farming the land there. However, it wasn't until 1820 that his grandson began planting vines and making wine. He named his new wine farm "Leipzig" in honor of his grandfather's hometown.

Today, in the 9th generation, Johannes Christiaan's descendants continue to run the winery with great passion – equipped with a modern cellar where they process only the finest hand-picked grapes from the best vineyards for their high-quality wines. This Sauvignon Blanc comes from the coastal region of western South Africa. Typical of its origin, it entices with notes of green fruits, meadow blossoms, and limes. Aromas of lime peel, vanilla, and a delicate woody touch complement the bouquet. Smooth, full-bodied, and silky on the palate, it is complex, profound, and refreshing at the same time. And always worth a visit, even in a wine glass.

Worcester

Worcesteris a large wine-growing district in the protected Breede River Valley, about 100 km from Cape Town. Worcester's vineyards produce a good quarter of South Africa'sWineand the region has numerous cooperative wineries. A wide range of grape varieties are grown in Worcester, withChenin Blanc,ColombardandSauvignon Blancare among the most important varieties.
This extremely hot region, with average summer temperatures well above 30 degrees Celsius, and the overlapping rain shadows formed by the mountains to the south and west, make supplemental irrigation essential in Worcester. The nearby Brandvlei Dam provides water for the widely used drip irrigation method.
Due to the climatic and topographical variations in the Worcester district, the wine styles vary considerably, encompassing both red and white varieties. While the majority of grapes thrive on the gently rolling valley floor, grapes for premium wines are grown on the surrounding slopes, where the soils offer excellent drainage, resulting in vines here producing smaller yields with complex and concentrated flavors.

The DistrictWorcesteris located in theBreede River ValleyRegion and is further divided into the subregions Hex River Valley, Nuy and Scherpenheuvel. All these regions are assigned to the geographical upper regionWestern Capeassigned.
