In the glass, it's a dark garnet red with an expressive aroma of dark berries with subtle roasted notes and a hint of vanilla. Subtle spicy aromas linger at the end. On the palate, it's equally fruity and spicy, with a balanced acidity and a velvety mouthfeel. The finish is long and juicy.

Château Patache d'Aux

Château Patche d'Aux is located in Bégadan, in the Médoc. The vineyards cover 58 hectares and are some of the northernmost vineyards in Bordeaux. Located just 30 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, the property enjoys an oceanic climate. The two vineyards are 10 kilometers apart and lie on different geological formations. The vineyards near Bégadan are located on a limestone plateau, while the second vineyard, on the hill of Saint-Christoly, lies directly on the Gironde River and is known as an alluvial terrace. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are planted in both vineyards. Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are added in small quantities.

Médoc/Bordeaux

The region is divided into two regional appellations (Bas-Médoc and Haut-Médoc) and six municipal appellations within Haut-Médoc, comprising approximately 16,000 hectares of vineyards. Médoc is arguably the most famous appellation in Bordeaux and also one of the most important and best red wine regions in France and the world. Typical of the region are the numerous magnificent châteaux, which also merit this designation (as "château") for architectural reasons. However, this is not a sign of quality, as there are also wineries with simple buildings producing excellent wines.
