Seine Messer sind individuell auf den jeweiligen Auftraggeber ausgerichtet. Es sind Messertypen, die in ihrer Form und Stahlzusammensetzung auf die Persönlichkeit des Anwenders ausgerichtet sind. Das "The Fifth Quarter" Küchenbeil "Thor" ist speziell auf Rolands "hard core" Bedürfnisse ausgerichtet und wird von ihm in den unterschiedlichsten Klimazonen bei Hitze, Eis, Schnee, am Wasser, im Dschungel, im Wald und in der Wüste eingesetzt. Roland zerteilt damit ganze Tiere, schuppt Fische und hackt Chilli und Dill. Nils hat Roland als Typ "Zerstörer" eingestuft und dieses Kochbeil "Thor" erschaffen. Jedes weitere Kochbeil ist ebenso ein Unikat - keines gleicht dem anderen.
"Thor" ist der Sohn des Göttervaters Odin. Er wurde von Bauern als Gott der Vegetation und bei den Seefahrern als Wettergott verehrt. In den mythologischen Schriften der Edda war er der Beschützer von Midgard, der Welt der Menschen.
